Arkanius and Ruthal exited through the portal into Tolov Kandradin. The floor was littered with grey ash. Broken skulls and piles of bones lay heaped up around them, and in the distant sky could be seen an enourmous fiery ring.

“Ruthal, I believe this to be the realm we require,” Arkanius said, licking his lips and rubbing his hands together.

Ruthal threw back his head and laughed. “We’ve done it, Arkanius. We’ve found that great power. Let’s take it. Now!”

The pair stepped forward away from the portal, but as they did so, it closed behind them, making a large popping sound.

Arkanius whirled around and screamed. “Fuck! Ruthal, the portal, it’s fucking closed! We’re doomed! Doomed!”

Ruthal laughed again. “Dear Arkanius, have you learned nothing? The power we seek will blast the entire sky to pieces, and you’re worried about a little shitty portal?” Ruthal spat on the dusty ground. “Get up off your blasted knees and lets get going. Come on!”

Ruthal threw his arms up into the air and screamed, “Keeper of the gate! Show yourself and surrender your power! We are here to claim the power of the Red Dragon! Show yourself, damn you!”

To the side of them, white smoke swirled into the air, and inside it was a throne of tangled roots and vines. Atop that throne sat a large raven, and in the seat sat a skeletal figure. “You two fools. Trying to take my power, are you?”
